The G.EN.ESI Project aims to support eco-design through the complementary development of a methodology for management and design process, and a software platform for assessing and addressing a product’s environmental impacts.

The Methodology

The G.EN.ESI methodology will provide a comprehensive management structure and design process aimed at design, engineering and manufacturing companies who are looking to develop their eco-design output.

The Platform

The G.EN.ESI platform will be a concrete implementation of this eco-design approach. It aims to provide an integrated set of software tools that can dynamically inform companies of the lifecycle impacts of their products and supports design decision making to address these impacts.

The dual focus of this project has been developed to cover all bases. The intended outcome is a ‘pick-and-mix’ style selection of tools and approaches that can be adapted to support a specific company’s introduction to, and on-going development in, eco-design management and product development.
